About Registrar

Srabani Guha Roy is the authorized special marriage registrar in Bangladesh under The Special Marriage Act-111, 1872. She is acting as registrar of inter religion marriages of the people of various religions like Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Muslim, Shikh, Parsi etc. and also international and interracial marriages happened among people of various countries across the world.

Why Special Marriage

Special marriage is a type of marriage when it has occurred between the people of different religions or people from Bangladesh and other countries. All types of special marriages will fall into The Special Marriage Act, 1872 to justify the marriage either valid or not. On the other hand marriage between the people of same religion will not be considered as special marriage.

Full Name, Father and Mother’s Name, and full address of 3 (Three) Witnesses
2 Passport Size Photographs of the both parties
Each witness NID card photocopy

Condition for Special Marriage

Both male and female must satisfy the following conditions of Special Marriage Act.

The groom must be over 21 years of age and the bride should be at least 18 years of age
When they are marrying each other both man and woman should not have a husband or wife living
If any party is below the age of 21 years during the marriage he or she is needed to take the permission of their father or guardian.
